For many, the role of artificial intelligence in business can be scary. Yet, AI can be used as a tool for your business in so many useful ways. Here’s The Thing About Artificial Intelligence In Business…

It is no question that AI has come a long way. These tools hold a bounty of power and intelligence. In fact, all of the pieces that we do to make social media come to life can now be done by AI.

The difference will be who is leaning into these tools and using them to their advantage versus who lives in fear and backs away from them. Obviously, we never really know what the future holds. However, we don’t think that these tools can provide the same insight, guidance, and marketing tools that humans can provide. 

In terms of using AI in your business, especially if you're not in a place where you want to outsource your social, it comes down to seeing what works for you and learning how best to leverage it.

Ways You Can Use Chat GPT In Your Business

Content Ideation - So many business owners don’t know where to start with their content ideation. Chat GPT has the capabilities to make you a content plan. For example, you could ask: Can you please help me build a 30 day content plan for a local social media agency based out of Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario. It will then generate some ideas for you to get started with. 

Caption Writing - Captions are another area where many people tend to struggle. Chat GPT is great at making your captions engaging by using words you may not use in a regular day, coming up with catchy hooks, and including a CTA (call to action). You can then take little pieces from the captions it generates and add your own spin on it.

Community Management - If you're getting questions from your audience, you can throw those questions in Chat GPT to get answers. This way, if you're looking for a more formulated response or information about a topic you don’t know that much about, it's a quick way to learn. However, base case, we advise only talking about things you do know about. You also need to be wary of the information it provides. Because it is a new tool that’s still learning, it’s not perfect. Remember to use your human filter and double check the information it’s giving you. 

Content Repurposing - Content repurposing is definitely a major plus to using Chat GPT. You can throw an article or a blog into Chat GPT and say, please summarize this in an Instagram caption OR break this into 10 different Instagram posts OR what are 10 calls to action about this? 

Your Success Comes Down To Your Artificial Intelligence Prompts 

An important thing to know about AI and Chat GPT is the results you get are very dependent on the questions you ask. It remembers your conversation leading up to your final ask. So, tell it all of the things you want it to know about your business, from your content pillars, to your target audience and what your offerings are. 

You can also ask it to ask you any other clarifying questions it needs to achieve the best results. If you don’t like the result it gives you, you can always ask it to regenerate or tweak its response. The more specific you are with your prompts, the better. 

For example, you could ask: write me a 250-word blog written as a 30 year old millennial blogger who owns a social media marketing agency OR I'm a 55 year old woman and I own a local soap company. Please suggest 30 ideas for Instagram posts

These two prompts will result in vastly different results. This specificity is what will ultimately make your content more nuanced and personal. 

Then, you can continue to rectify it to get it as close as possible to your desired outcome. For example: Do it again but make it less tacky OR Do it again but give me ideas that don't require me to be on screen OR Do It again and make it shorter/longer. 

There's no excuse for not knowing what to post. If you don't want to hire someone, ask Chat GPT and it will help you. 

But Is Artificial Intelligence In Business The Be-All & End-All?

Is Chat GPT amazing? Yes. However, at the same time, there’s a level of strategy a social media manager will bring that an AI tool just can’t. We still have multitudes of value to share with other people.
